MILITARY RELOCATION | LISTING & VA EXPERT | 300+ SALES | 25+ YEARS
You have orders. Your home needs to sell. I’ve done this hundreds of times.
I’m Alexis “Lexie” Dindal — Compass Military Division Realtor with 25+ years of experience, specializing in helping military families sell before they PCS and maximize their outcome before they leave.
I didn't start out planning to sell real estate. I started out scuba diving in the Florida Keys, tracking nutrient plumes for wastewater management studies.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, earned a BS in Biology with a minor in Marine Science from Penn State, then a Master's in Environmental Science and Management from Duquesne — sustainability-focused, with extensive field work in Costa Rica. For years, my work was hands-on, scientific, and outdoors: data, ecosystems, fieldwork that didn't care about your excuses if the conditions changed on you.
Then I met a Navy officer on a salsa dance floor in Pittsburgh, while he was finishing dental school at the University of Pittsburgh. He commissioned. We got orders. And the skill set I'd built — read the environment, adapt the plan, execute precisely under conditions you don't control — turned out to be exactly what military life demands.
Pennsylvania. Japan. Hawaii. California. Four duty stations, more moves than that, and a front-row seat to what a PCS actually requires of a family: not just packing boxes, but rebuilding a whole life on someone else's timeline.
That experience — plus raising two children through adoption, one of whom is part of our EFMP journey — is the actual foundation of how I work with military families now. I'm not selling you a real estate process I read about. I've lived the version where orders drop and everything has to move at once, where "stable community" and "continuity of care" aren't nice-to-haves, they're the whole decision.
Why Military Families Specifically
Most agents treat a PCS sale like any other listing. It isn't. The timeline doesn't flex. You're often gone before escrow closes. And if you're an EFMP family, your housing decision is also a care-access decision — something most agents have never had to think about, because they've never had to live it.
I built my practice — Compass Military Division, 300+ sales, 25+ years — around closing that gap. Strategic pricing and remote-execution systems for sellers who are PCSing out. VA loan and assumption expertise for buyers who don't know what they're sitting on. And underneath all of it, an agent who actually understands what's at stake for your family, not just your transaction.
For Sellers: My PCS Home Sale Strategy is built around fast preparation, strategic pricing, and seamless remote execution — so you can be at your next duty station before your old house even closes.
For Buyers: You have two advantages most agents don't fully leverage — VA loan assumptions (take over 2–3% interest rates) and Jumbo VA loans (buy anywhere in San Diego with zero down and no PMI).
If you're selling, buying, or just trying to figure out your options before orders drop — call me first. I've done this hundreds of times, and I know exactly what's at stake.
